FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What method of powder coating does Kasey use?
We use electrostatic spray deposition (ESD).
What is powder coating?
Powder coating is a finishing process that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. This method uses a mixture of ground particles of pigment and resin which is sprayed onto the surface of the product. This finishing process is suitable for various materials, including metals; such as aluminium, gates, bike and car parts. Powder coating is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.
WHAT IS The main benefit of powder coating?
Durability
When cured, powder coating forms a protective and thick, dense finish, that is much harder than conventional paint. This hardness means that it is most likely going to last longer than most other alternatives. Powder coated objects are more resistant to fading, wear and chipping. Powder coating also offers a wide range of colours and finishes that remain more vibrant and brighter than other finishes too.
What is wet painting?
Wet painting is also sometimes called wet spray, wet spraying or wet paint.Wet Painting is the traditional process of applying a liquid paint to a metal product for finishing. It is a consistent process in which paint is applied to almost any surface through a spray gun and is then left to dry. The benefits of wet painting is that it can be done on almost any surface, and most sizes. The most time consuming part of wet painting is the pre-treatment process, as the wet painting process can usually be done quite quick and efficiently.
